Job Summary of Lease Accounting Manager:
The Lease Accounting Manager will oversee lease accounting, ensuring compliance with ASC 842, IFRS 16, and other standards. This role includes managing lease processes, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:Lease Accounting and Compliance:
- Oversee lease accounting processes and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Maintain and update lease accounting policies.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual lease-related financial statements.
- Analyze lease data for management insights.
System Management:
- Manage lease accounting software and tools.
- Ensure accurate data capture in lease management systems.
Audit and Internal Controls:
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Address audit findings related to lease accounting.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor lease accounting staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with real estate, legal, and operations teams on lease information.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in accounting, focusing on lease accounting.
- Experience with ASC 842.
- Automotive industry experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS lease accounting standards.
- Proficiency in lease accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and attention to detail.
