What the Staff Accountant will do:

• The Staff Accountant will prepare month end closing journal entries and month end close workpapers in accordance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least bi-weekly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts and other financial accounts.
• Sets up new vendor accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• File sales tax and tangible tax returns for their respective cafes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What the company needs in a Staff Accountant:

• Accounting degree or related is required
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Construction or job costing experience (+)
• Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time
