Our client, a highly regarded organization located in downtown Portland, Oregon, is seeking a dedicated Accounting Specialist to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Controller and gain invaluable experience in various aspects of accounting.
Overview of the RoleAs an Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable while maintaining the general ledger. This position offers the chance to further develop your accounting skills through cross-training and collaboration on special projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Shared responsibility for accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) tasks, including GL coding, invoice input, check writing, and customer account postings.
- Posting general ledger entries and ensuring accurate weekly financing processes.
- Issuing checks for authorized invoices and receipts, along with recording expenses and maintaining vendor files.
- Replenishing and reconciling petty cash accounts.
- Preparing and maintaining 1099 forms at year-end and ensuring daily balancing.
To thrive as an Accounting Specialist with our client, candidates should possess:
- At least 2 years of office experience, preferably in an accounting role.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles and general business practices.

Location and Salary- Location: Downtown Portland, Oregon
- Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
