CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

(1) Operate Freight Elevator:

  • Answer freight calls promptly, prioritizing calls and maintaining efficiency
  • Maintain safe freight operations
  • Regularly inspect incoming and outgoing materials/cargo for safe transport and to prevent damage to the freight. Halt transport of materials if they are not safely secured or present other concerns based on freight capacities (length, weight, etc.).
  • Regularly report maintenance issues to management regarding operation of the freight, such as bulbs not working when floors are called, elevator not leveling, or doors not functioning properly.
  • Liaison with elevator technicians as needed
  • Continuously check for appropriate identification of passengers – building employees, tenants, vendors, contractors, and visitors – prior to authorizing access into the building. For restricted areas, seek approval from management or security.
  • Regularly review emergency freight operations, which includes how to safely operate the freight and assist handicap evacuees during an emergency
  • Liaison with our emergency response teams during medical emergencies, evacuations, power outages, and other extreme conditions as needed.

(2) Custodial, Day Service Duties as assigned by manager:

  • Assist with removal/delivery of dumpsters, carts, or other department equipment
  • Sweep/pick-up trash, cigarettes, etc. outside of Landmark Office Towers
  • Assist with deliveries and shipments

(3) Customer Service:

  • Greet patrons upon arrival
  • Assist patrons moving materials on and off freight, ensuring the safety of materials being moved
  • Regularly communicate with customers to help maintain efficiency and good relationships

FORMAL EDUCATION:

  •  Excellent communication skills

  • Experience navigating the Landmark Office Towers complex

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred:

  • Experience operating freight elevators
  • Experience operating pallet jacks and other freight moving equipment
