The successful candidate will work closely with our attorneys and clients to administer trusts and estates, prepare tax returns, and manage the financial aspects of estate planning. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Administer trusts and estates, including the collection, valuation, and distribution of assets.
  • Prepare estate tax returns (IRS Forms 706), gift tax returns (IRS Forms 709), fiduciary income tax returns (IRS Forms 1041), individual income tax returns (IRS Forms 1040), and business tax returns (IRS Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065).
  • Coordinate with accountants and other professionals to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other parties involved in estate administration.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all estate administration activities.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Use MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook to create reports, track data, and communicate with team members and clients.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a paralegal role, with a focus on trust and estate administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Proficiency in preparing various IRS forms, including 706, 709, 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 1041.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
