Certification Details Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year Certs: Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start; required to obtain prior to start. Will accept travelers that do not currently have the ONC cert BLS. PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: CPI. Charge nurse experience. Job Details RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. WILL CERT FOR CHEMO will work with oncology as well as medical surgical patients JOB DETAILS: will work with oncology as well as medical surgical patients Target Ratios: 1:6-7 Shift: NIGHTS; Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays RTO: 7 days MAX; DAYS; 36 or 48 hours. If 48 then no OT billed until after 48. Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift. Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location. Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed PATIENT DIAGNOSES: High Acuity Adults and Geriatrics. Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID. SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42. General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection. DKA - Insulin drip, AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips. UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR. UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts) SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.
