Job DetailsJob LocationClearwing Productions Arizona LLC - Phoenix, AZPosition TypeFull TimeDescriptionFunction:The Lead Audio Technician is a subject matter expert upholding the highest professional and technical standards and represents Clearwing as a leader in the live entertainment production industry. In addition to overseeing, preparing, and operating professional audio systems of all sizes and types, the Lead Audio Technician mentors team members both in the shop and on-site during events, identifying areas for improvement and targeted training for our team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Design and Implement Advanced Audio Systems while working closely with Engineering, Operations, Account Executives, and clients to ensure shows success.Draft advanced show paperwork including signal routing, loom lists, input lists, detailed PA hanging specifications, rigging plots, and network topologies.Design and oversee assembly of processing, RF racks, Digital Intercom systems, and any custom racks per show requirements.Fosters a supportive learning environment to ensure that team members achieve their professional goals.Current knowledge of industry standards and technology.Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks on site and in the warehouse.Oversee multiple large crews and understand union/house rules.Perform on-site rigging in relation to audio systems and can identify compromised rigging piecesOperate as an A1, A2, A3 as neededTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and network problems and can assist clients/other technicians via phone, email, or in person effectively.Expertise in advanced audio theories and practices. Proficient in understanding and implementing the following computer software: L'Acoustics Soundivison, L'Acoustics Network Manager, JBL Performance Manager, JBL Venue Synthesis, Shure Wireless Workbench, Rational Acoustics (SMAART 9), Vectorworks Spotlight.In-depth expertise in audio networking, including RF, Com, audio processing, switch programming, custom switch configurations, routers, access points (APs), IP address configurations, switch-port functions, fiber optic modes, and connections.Utilize advanced signal flow techniques in audio systems, including handling multiple digital formats and conversions, managing broadcast and press feeds, configuring delay systems, and coordinating complex input schedules for large festivals and corporate events, as well as intricate monitoring systems.Assist other company departments as work demands.Competencies:Appropriate Show Etiquette.Demonstrates a high level of expertise in rigging, ensuring safe and efficient setup of equipment for events, installations, and productions.Critical thinking: ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt.Works well with timelines and deadlines.Self-motivated and passionate with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Works well individually and as a team.Professional interaction: tactful, positive, effective communicator (verbal and written).Communicates clearly and professionally, adapting to different client styles and preferences while maintaining a positive approachable demeanor.Demonstrates strong client-facing skills by understanding the client's needs and delivering tailored solutions that align with their goals. Excellent attention to detail.QualificationsSkills and Qualifications:Preferred: 5-8 years of experience in entertainment audio production, or a combination of relevant experience and equivalent education.Working knowledge of audio equipment in Clearwing inventoryAudio Systems Certifications and TrainingsDante Level 3SMAART Certifications preferred.Forklift, Boom Lift, and Scissor Lift certified preferred.OSHA 30 preferredProficient in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite.High school diploma or equivalentValid Passport, able to travel (possibly with short notice).Physical Working Conditions:Regularly bend, twist, stretch, push, pull and carry, lift 50-75 lbs.Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.Walk up and down stairs or ladders and comfortable with heights.Work in various temperatures and outdoor weather conditions.Work "on-call" as needed including some nights, weekends, and holidays.Work long hours and overtime as required.Able to Travel (possibly with short notice).
