Position Overview

Richter Consulting is looking to hire an experienced professional at the analyst level in their Asset Based Lending diligence practice. While this position is based in Montreal and Toronto, our engagements are primarily carried out in major US cities. Our engagements involve a risk-based approach to collateral reviews for leading US financial institutions and are often utilized for refinancing and turnaround. Our deal teams of 3-4 professionals deliver asset-based lending consultation services involving companies in numerous industries (Consumer Products, Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution, Services, etc.).

Must Haves

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience (CPA)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and organizational skills;
  • Ability to rapidly identify key issues during an engagement and make recommendations;
  • Superior financial analysis skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (Power BI, Microsoft Access, and IDEA) an asset;
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;
  • Flexibility to work from home or hybrid work environment;
  • Some US travel required (~15%)


What We Are Looking For

  • Strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analyses and ability to link findings to strategy;
  • Review and analysis of financial data and trends relating to the collateral and the borrower's business;
  • Assessments of collateral borrowing base;
  • Evaluation of financial reporting systems;
  • Regular communications with lenders through written reports and exit interviews;
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment among driven professionals;
  • Occasional involvement in other engagements such as business assessments, liquidity reviews, operational/profitability improvements, corporate finance, and due diligence.
