Position Summary

This position is responsible for administrative and supervisory work in Food Service Management. Work involves planning, organizing and directing of food service work at Tate Center Retail location. Work involves assisting the Retail Dining Manager, for food quality and production, is performed under the direction of Retail Dining Manager, and is evaluated through observation and in terms of customer satisfaction. Activities and decisions are varied in nature, involving independent action and judgment in solving common problems. Unusual cases or questionable matters are resolved with position's supervisor or other appropriate positions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Experience in dietetics or food service management. Experience in supervising food service personnel, production, sanitation & service in a large-scale food service operation. Experience in handling large sums of money.

Physical Demands

Move loads up to 50 lbs., unloading and stocking products; perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30 lbs.; perform duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arm, and shoulder, possess hand and finger coordination; reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel; and work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors. Work long hours standing.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Training and direct supervision of staff including full time, part time, student employees, and student management team. Supervision of the food production areas for Tate Center Cafe's.

Manage food court and dining areas. Assist unit manager in scheduling of employees, open/closing procedures, interviewing and hiring.

Customer service skills required dealing with suggestions and complaints. Equipment maintenance.

Accountable for receipts and cash register requirements.
