A New York City nonprofit services organization is looking to add a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing team in Manhattan. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for providing primary care to health center patients using a model that focuses on holistic patient care, including health promotion and behavior changes.

About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: 4-6 weeks
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Setting: Health & Wellness center
  • Hours: 9am to 4pm or 9am-4pm
  • EMR: eClinicalWorks
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will:
  • Provide age-appropriate patient care
  • Elicit, record, and interpret the past medical history, family and social history as it applies to the resident
  • Order and perform necessary diagnostic tests, procedures and therapeutic interventions as identified in the plan of care
  • Determine care requirements and develop programs for a specific patient population
  • Perform medical diagnostic, therapeutic procedures, and prescribe, dispense or deliver medications
  • Provide anticipatory guidance and counseling to patients' families
  • Complete timely documentation of patient assessment and plan of care in the electronic health record
  • Serve in a consultative resource capacity by providing expert knowledge and behavioral skills that impact clinical practice and patient outcomes
  • Participate in the development, utilization and evaluation of resources to meet patient/family educational needs
  • Provide health promotion education and serve as a resource for nursing staff in areas of clinical expertise
  • Participate and contribute to activities that enhance clinical expertise and nursing knowledge
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Master's Degree
  • NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
  • Prior experience with Electronic Health Record systems
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • National certification
