Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)

Full Time Inpatient Opportunity at AdventHealth Orlando

General Summary:

The PA or APRN, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

  • Performing physical examinations of patient’s evaluation and treatment of radiology patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Orders appropriate diagnostic tests
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public
  • PA will see a mixture of pediatric and adult patients
  • The PA would spend one week in LP Clinic and one week in IR Clinic
    • LP clinic (lumbar puncture): inpatient at Orlando
    • IR Clinic pre and post op care, possible rounding but no procedures in IR clinic

Schedule Details:

  • Schedule is Monday – Friday
  • Campus: AH Orlando

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong medical decision-making skills

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nursing
  • Interventional radiology background preferred

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Interventional Radiology, Fluoroscopy and LP

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license
  • Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Current, valid DEA license
