Description

As a reputable leader in the fire suppression and fire detection industry, United Fire Equipment Company is seeking a highly self-motivated SCBA and Compressor Technician to service Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing lifesaving SCBA equipment and breathing air compressors meeting all quality standards and industry specifications. Your expertise in fire protection systems and commitment to safety will play a key role in protecting lives and property from the dangers of fire. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspection, testing, repair and maintenance of firefighting related equipment including self contained breathing apparatus, breathing air compressors, hydraulic rescue tools, and gas detection instruments.Conduct flow testing, certifying the equipment works properly and to the required standards.Comply with manufacturer, NFPA, NIOSH, OSHA and other regulatory or advisory bodies standards.Work with fire departments and customers throughout the state of Arizona to discuss inspection results and make recommendations for necessary repairs and upgrades.Maintain accurate inventory count and requisition replacement parts and supplies from the purchasing department.Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing inspection findings, completed repairs, and recommendations for system improvement.Effectively communicate quotes, bids, invoices, and orders with customers.Exceed a monthly, quarterly, and annual production quota.Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle, ensuring completion of regularly scheduled vehicle preventative maintenance.Efficiently analyze, develop and oversee assigned areas, encompassing both current and future customer needs.Requires working within the Phoenix area but also entails overnight travel to locations in both northern and southern Arizona.QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements

Prior fire service knowledge is a plus.2 + years' experience of route sales and service or relevant experience.Available to travel on a daily basis including multiple consecutive overnights as deemed necessary based on workload scheduling.Previous experience inspecting, repairing, and maintaining SCBA equipment is highly desirable.Strong mechanical aptitude and sound troubleshooting skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.Problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.Must have a clean driving record as well as a clean background and drug screen check.Able to regularly move and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb or balance on a ladder multiple times a day.

Salary Description

$62,400 to $87,000
