Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift, 4x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: Option of 36 or 48 hours per week Experience: First-time travelers welcome with 2-3 years of experience in Progressive/Acute ER License: Valid RN license or Compact RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week- Experience in a community-based ER setting- Ability to float to MS/ICU or IMC as needed- Willingness to work every other weekend (3 weekends per 6-week schedule) Job Description: - Provide initial medical care for conditions including strokes, STEMIs, major trauma, and pediatrics prior to transfer.- Treat patients with diagnoses such as respiratory, GI/GU, cardiac, neuro, minor trauma, OB/GYN, and integumentary issues.- Perform and assist with special procedures, including chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, RSI, splinting, procedural sedation, restraints, vacuum D&C, central lines, and US-guided IVs.- Operate special equipment such as Rapid Infusers, EZ IO, Lifepack 15 and 20, GE Monitors, GE EKG, and Glidescope.- Maintain effective communication and collaborate with the ED team, including an ED MD available 24/7 and mid-level practitioners during mid-shift.- Work with charge nurses and other team members to ensure optimal staffing and patient care.- Follow the required scrubs color guidelines and adhere to facility policies.- Participate in a brief orientation when floating to like units within the facility. Additional Information: - Flexible with scrub colors, as long as there are no logos.- One request for time off per contract.- Auto-approval for a maximum of 4 days' requested time off.
