Investment Strategist Senior

Duties & Responsibilities
Every step of the UMB Private Wealth Management investment process is overseen and executed by dedicated teams of research and portfolio specialists. From both a top-down and bottom-up perspectivefrom the global macro-economic environment down to individual security selections and concluding with Strategic and Policy oversightteams of experts develop and implement the guiding investment themes and the fulfillment strategies to optimally leverage the division's outlook for the upcoming cycle, in the manner best suited to the clients' goals and objectives.
The Senior Investment Strategist works directly with our most sophisticated and complex high-net-worth clients to create custom investment solutions that harness the power of the investment process outlined above. In this role, you will serve as the investment management subject matter expert within a team of professionals that have an overarching goal of providing financial clarity through a robust financial planning process. You will play a crucial part in the development, maintenance, and oversight of the investment strategy and asset allocation for clients serviced by the Private Wealth Management team. This role will focus on serving individuals and families with at least $3 million in investable assets. The position involves working within the firm's Portfolio Management Division, where you will leverage your expertise to oversee the management of investment advisory accounts on a discretionary basis.
Portfolio Construction Desk
collaborate with the firm's Portfolio Construction Desk (PCD) to open investment advisory accounts for high-net-worth clients and manage their investment strategy on a discretionary basis.
Relationship Management and Sales Support
Assist Wealth Advisors and Managing Partners with analyzing portfolios and developing advanced Portfolio Management solutions and strategies based on the unique Investment Policy Statement (IPS) for each individual client and parameters provided via Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities.
Client Service
Serve as the investment expert during client meetings. Lead the discussion around investment strategy options and performance. Articulate firm messaging about key macro-economic and market factors. Participate and on occasion lead sales presentations. Collaborate with Client Service Specialist and Relationship Manager to ensure that administrative tasks are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
Investment Oversight
Develop and oversee investment functions, including policies, procedures, reporting, required Regulation 9 review and performance metrics, utilizing firm-approved resources. This includes the deployment of firm approved asset allocation models and the implementation of strategy.
Asset Allocation
Make asset allocation recommendations and set up portfolios in collaboration with PCD. Critically examine current portfolio and provide rebalance instructions to PCD.
Benchmark and Investment Policy Recommendations
Review and develop recommendations for appropriate benchmarks for the current asset allocation. Provide initial and ongoing review of client IPS.
Investment Committees
Active participation or leadership of assigned investment committee within the investment division.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM:College degree or relevant experience8 years' experience in Investment Management, Financial Planning, or Brokerage that includes communicating complex and detailed information related to investment management process and portfolio construction.

•Demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence when interacting with clients and internal partners•Demonstrates ability to develop, expand, and close relationships with clients and external professionals (attorneys, financial advisors, accountants) to enhance business opportunities•Demonstrates strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening, presentation)•Demonstrates trust, investment, and trading knowledge of portfolio modeling, platforms, policies and procedures, state and federal laws/regulations•Demonstrates strong leadership skills
Compensation Range:Minimum: $99,750.00 - Maximum: $257,250.00
