We’re actively seeking a talented Debt Asset Management Director to join our Real Estate Investments team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Debt Asset Management Director, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by managing the resolution of distressed commercial real estate loans and monitoring the credit quality/performance of commercial real estate loan assets to provide the greatest recovery to investors. The individual will work with a team to monitor portfolio performance through review of watch lists, delinquency, and maturing loan reports and risk rating classifications compiled and managed by the asset management group.

How you’ll help move us forward:Oversee portfolio performance for potential adverse credit issues.Evaluate and make fact-supported resolution and transactional recommendations for performing and non-performing loans, for presentation to leadership and other stakeholders.Work closely with investment team to provide intelligence, analysis and guidance in connection with potential new investments.Work closely with counsel, engage third party service providers and ensure development and execution of strategic plans.Transaction Management – Leverage subject matter expertise and industry best practice to provide guidance to team members responsible for analysis, recommendation, negotiation, and management of commercial real estate investment transactions (ownership restructures, property management changes, easements, payoffs, etc.).Asset Management – Directly handle all aspects of REO assets. Lead role in overseeing assets to maximize property performance and creating value.Implement and execute asset business plans.Oversee partners, managers, and onsite team members.Review and analyze quarterly value of each asset.Perform analysis and source market intelligence to develop and refine investment strategy and tactics.Analyze economic and demographic data and evaluate real estate markets.Compilation/review of valuation/cash flow estimates, spreadsheets and exhibits.Lead role in working with borrowers, brokers, attorneys, consultants, and others to facilitate the closing of transactions.Directly oversee disposition process. Obtain approval, negotiate agreements with legal team, and manage closing process.

The experience you bring:4-year college degree with emphasis in Business, Finance or Real Estate (MBA strongly preferred)Minimum of 7 – 10 years of Special Servicing or workout experience requiredWorking experience with servicing commercial mortgage loans in CMBS pools governed by Pooling and Servicing Agreements required.Working experience in evaluation and underwriting of investment risks associated with commercial real estate debt instruments required.Superior analytical and financial modeling skillsHigh proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OutlookExcellent organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and writtenExceptional attention to detail and thoroughness is a mustTeam player with collaborative and strong relationship building skillsAbility to work independently and in a way that reflects the company’s culture and core valuesSkilled at developing and maintaining personal, social and business relationships representing Pacific Life in a professional mannerWillingness to travel as needed (approx 25%)Argus experience a plus

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.$214,020.00 - $261,580.00
