Our team is looking to add an experienced Vice President of Integrated Marketing Communications to the team to lead strategic, insights-driven brand strategy efforts and brand activation campaigns for a variety of medtech and biotech clients. We’re looking for a proven healthcare marketing leader who is curious, collaborative, and dedicated to developing strong teams and delivering exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of strategic marketing principles, have extensive experience developing and executing multi-channel programs for B2B and B2C businesses, thrive in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment, and be able to clearly communicate recommendations and results.
Agency and healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Plan and oversee execution of strategic integrated marketing communications campaigns designed to establish/build brands, drive demand, drive leads, and/or build belief in innovative science
Lead brand strategy and identity initiatives from discovery to activation, working closely with brand strategists, creative professionals, and channel experts
Build/oversee multi-channel digital and social media marketing programs that support client business objectives
Collaborate across the agency to integrate marketing initiatives with traditional public relations programs
Productively partner with the agency’s creative services division to deliver compelling creative that engages and activates key audiences
Lead multi-faceted account teams, ensuring successful activation of complex programs that operate seamlessly, agency profitability, and delivery of exceptional client service and results
Determine account staffing and resources, develop accurate monthly projections and annual/quarterly forecasts
Play an active role, with executional support from team, in the development and activation of advertising plans, social media strategies, campaign forecasts and measurement/optimization plans based on target audience and campaign objective
Translate research and performance data into meaningful insights to guide strategic planning and program optimization
Develop new business proposals, lead RFP response teams, and identify/pursue organic growth opportunity for IMC programs
Provide strategic marketing counsel and technical guidance to colleagues and clients
Effectively communicate recommendations and results to the C-suite, through both formal presentations and day-to-day communication
Lead, develop and grow teams of early- and mid- career marketing professionals, including ongoing coaching/mentorship, establishment of annual development plants, completion of regular goals reviews and evaluations, according to agency policies
Skills/Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field; additional certification or coursework specific to marketing preferred
10-15+ years of experience developing strategies and multi-channel activations for B2B and B2C healthcare marketing campaigns and experience in an agency leadership role within the last 5 of those years
Ability to provide strategic counsel and insights-based recommendations to senior executives on a regular basis, identify obstacles, and problem solve to deliver client satisfaction
Deep understanding of strategic marketing principles and marketing industry best practices and how they apply to medtech and biotech business models
Extensive experience in brand strategy and identity, corporate storytelling, content strategy, campaign development, corporate social media, digital and traditional advertising, and marketing measurement
Foundational understanding of public relations and creative services and experience working collaboratively with colleagues in these areas
Agility to drive small pilot programs, large, global multi-channel initiatives, and many opportunities in between
Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation products
Flexibility, self-motivation and record of success working in deadline-driven environment
Willingness to embrace a culture of continuous learning and maximize the opportunities provided by a growing organization
Experience leading and developing small teams
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, collegial work environment
