About the Role:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions and Recruitment plays a critical role in achieving the university’s annual enrollment targets. This position is responsible for fostering strategic partnerships both on and off campus to ensure consistent progress toward the university’s enrollment goals. Leveraging data-driven decision-making, the Director identifies, develops, and implements strategies that deliver measurable, quantifiable outcomes.
What You Will Be Doing:
Overseeing development and implementation of annual and long-range recruitment plans.
Hiring, training and coaching admissions counselors to ensure their success in meeting their application and enrollment goals.
Developing University enrollment goals and projections in consultation with the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, President’s Cabinet and Academic Deans.
Maintaining and implementing working knowledge of current trends and best practices in undergraduate recruitment.
Working collaboratively with the Director of New Student Programs to support campus visitation programs and campus events for prospective students, parents, and high school and community college counselors.
Maintaining effective relationships with high schools and community colleges that facilitate student transitions.
Undergraduate and Graduate Admission Application Processing:
Overseeing the development and implementation of procedures that ensure timely processing of admission applications.
Reviewing admission policy for appropriateness to University goals, recruitment, and efficient application processing.
Recommending policy changes to appropriate decision-making groups.
Coordinating processing of applications for specific student groups with appropriate University departments.
Overseeing the Office of Admissions:
Meeting with admissions counselors regularly to review their activities and provide guidance and feedback to ensure individual and departmental goals are achieved.
Maintaining an active staff development program that emphasizes continuous improvement and customer service.
Providing leadership on ensuring effective and consistent usage of technology and systems.
Managing the office budget.
Representing the office on appropriate University committees and affiliated organizations.
Maintaining an active role with appropriate professional organizations.
What You Will Bring:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in a related field.
Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience relevant to the job responsibilities.
Three years of supervisory and/or related management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field and experience in a University setting.
Proficient in the use of online student information systems.
Experience as a supervisor in a high-volume, multi-functional customer service environment.
Technical fluency with Oracle/PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office Professional Suite.
