Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
for a locum tenens position near
Edmonds, WA . This role is ideal for a skilled nurse practitioner with experience in family practice and a desire to work in a fast-paced, community health setting. The initial contract is for 3 months, with the possibility of an extension based on performance and availability.Position Overview:Specialty : Family PracticeStart Date : As soon as credentialedContract Length : 3 months, with potential to extendShift : 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week (with 1-hour unpaid lunch)
Optional : Saturday hours available for overtime pay
Schedule : Monday-Friday (40 hours/week)
Part-Time Option : Local candidates may be considered for a minimum of 3 days per week if housing is not required
Work Responsibilities:Patient Volume : Up to 18 patients per day (depending on cancellations)Patient Population : Newborns to geriatrics, must be comfortable with all age groupsSupport Team :
Dedicated medical assistant for each providerOn-site receptionist, mental health therapists, and dietitiansMost clinics have an on-site pediatrician and local health care administrator
Setting : Outpatient ambulatory clinic focused on family medicine, walk-in/acute care, and chronic disease management
Providers may see same-day walk-in patients
Procedures : Basic family practice procedures such as injections, IUD placements, and minor wound careEMR System : EPICKey Skills & Requirements:Board Certification : RequiredLicense : Active Washington State NP license requiredDEA : Active Washington DEA requiredCertifications : May be required (BLS, ACLS, etc.), and the provider is responsible for obtaining themExperience : At least 2 years of FNP experience required, with recent face-to-face patient contact within the past yearSpecial Skills : Ability to hit the ground running; orientation lasts 1 week, and providers are expected to begin patient care by day 3Background : Must have a clean background; no malpractice history will be consideredCommunity Health Experience : Experience working in community health centers or with underserved populations (e.g., migrants, refugees) is preferred.
