COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR ACADEMIC AND STUDENT AFFAIRS UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS URBANA-CHAMPAIGN The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. The Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs main responsibility is the DVM curriculum by providing leadership, oversight, and implementation of the DVM program. The Associate Dean serves as a member of the senior leadership team for the college, oversees the DVM curriculum review and revision (Accreditation Standard 9), provides strategic oversight for implementing changes to the DVM curriculum, oversees outcomes assessment in the DVM program (Accreditation Standard 11), supports professional development of faculty in education and curricular development, provides oversight of educational facilities (Accreditation Standard 3) and oversees students in the DVM program (Accreditation Standard 6) in conjunction with the Assistant Dean for Student Success. In addition, the Associate Dean is responsible for four important public events each year: New Student Orientation, Blue Coat Ceremony, White Coat Ceremony, and Commencement. The initial appointment is for five years with the option for reappointment. The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and interacts with faculty, staff, students, and college- and university-level administrators, as well as other colleges/schools of veterinary medicine. The Associate Dean is expected to remain current on accreditation matters, attend the annual AAVMC meeting in April each year, and be an active participant in the monthly Zoom meetings for Associate Deans of Academic and Student Affairs at U.S. colleges/schools of veterinary medicine. Required qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a DVM degree or equivalent; eligible for appointment as a faculty member in one of three departments in the college at the rank of Associate/Full, Clinical Associate/Full or Teaching Associate/Full Professor; demonstrated interest in, and commitment to, veterinary medical education.
