We create gutsy communications for a healthier future, and we’re looking for someone with guts to join us.The Vice President should bring strong experience in account management and client relationship building to be leveraged across several of the team’s highly visible and growing pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or medtech organizations on pivotal product lifecycle moments, corporate communications, executive positioning, thought leadership, conference engagement, and business/health media. Additionally, the Vice President will lead client relationships and internal teams, drive strategic planning and tactical execution, as well as performing fundamental tasks such as industry and company research, development of messaging materials, coaching team members, and budget management. This role will also closely partner with agency leadership and cross-functional teams to drive new business responses, proposals and presentations.This opportunity is perfect for a smart, gutsy, self-starting PR leader who would like to grow their career in healthcare communications.
Responsibilities
Oversee operational performance of accounts and integrated teams, ensuring quality work, deadline, and budget adherenceServe as daily client contact and act as client lead when appropriate, address client issues thoughtfully and effectivelyDrive communications planning and KPIs; manage against themConsistently produce high-quality internal and external communications contentBuild and manage internal teams to meet client needsDemonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations and social media content planning, materials development and executiveSupervise staff by motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable and conducting their reviewsContribute to business growth through introducing clients to new capabilities, building network of industry contacts and participating in relevant professional organizationsDrive new business opportunities including RFP responses and presentationsCommit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goalsDemonstrate behaviors consistent with DJE’s values and Code of Ethics and Business ConductBasic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience8+ years of full-time experience in public relations and/or related fields including advertising and marketingPreferred Qualifications
Agency experienceExperience in one or more healthcare related fields including: pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or medtechBe able to demonstrate excellent storytelling skills, and provide sound, level-appropriate media counsel with all level’s client contactsPossess proven management and leadership skills as well as a proven track record of success in executing fast-moving, large-scale campaigns at the strategic and tactical levelBe able to manage the media budgets and team on sizable pieces of business to achieve client goalsHave experience managing campaign launches, data and regulatory milestone announcements, medical publications and conference, media events, and desk-side briefingsAbility to write strategic communications plans and a variety of materials with limited oversightPossess keen interest and high awareness of current events in the healthcare industryBe committed to a solutions-oriented mindset to bring best strategic counsel to our clients and internal teams
$95,000 - $155,000 a year
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.#LI-EB
