Our client is a well-established US-based leading manufacturer and one-stop shop for wastewater systems. Their product range has expanded over their 100+ year history to include water/wastewater treatment and recovery equipment, energy generating and recovery equipment, and industrial applications such as laundry, food and beverage, etc.

Due to company growth, they have an immediate need for a VP of Sales. This position is responsible for directing, supporting, and administering the selling of the company’s products and services. The fundamental role of the VP of Sales is to develop and administer a selling program that will consistently deliver the growth objectives of the company as well as customer/prospect retention goals.

The ideal candidate is located in the Chicago or Milwaukee area.

Primary Functions of the VP of Sales

Being responsible for retaining and expanding existing customers.

Creating and implementing new business development strategies.

Leading all sales activities in assigned markets, and identifying and penetrating new markets.

Working with marketing to generate sales leads and brand awareness.

Staffing and directing the sales team and partner network, and providing leadership toward achieving maximum profitability and growth aligned with company goals, vision, and values.

Establishing plans and strategies to expand the customer base and contributing to developing training and educational programs for customers/prospects and both direct hire and partner sales team members.

Sales Leadership Responsibilities

Participating in company leadership team meetings and representing the sales function perspectives with strategic planning, market intelligence, customer feedback, pricing policy, and other insights.

Identifying and working to provide and improve brand and product awareness, and generating and distributing leads for the sales team.

Setting and meeting revenue growth goals through performance and activity management of the sales team and sales support.

Obtaining profitable results through the sales team.

Managing the sales team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organization’s presence.

Managing, leading, and scheduling regular sales team meetings.

Providing direct selling and co-selling services and support for key accounts and strategic partners.

Additional Responsibilities

Providing market insight on developing new products and creating presentations for selling new products and services to new and existing clients.

Attending industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and providing feedback and information on market and creative trends. Building brand awareness.

Presenting to and consulting with senior-level management on business trends to develop new services, products, and distribution channels.

Managing sales administration functions and advising senior management on maximizing business relationships.

Assisting in developing the annual sales plans.

Qualifications

Technical degree, engineering preferred.

Must have experience selling in the food and beverage industry.

Knowledge/experience of engineered solutions for water/energy, wastewater systems and RO systems.

Working knowledge of chemistry relating to water/boiler and or wastewater applications.

Must have a technical but hands-on approach to operating a business.
