SENIOR JOB CAPTAINS
to join our San Diego office to work with clients within our healthcare market. This is your opportunity to work with a team of dedicated, creative and fun architects and designers on award-winning projects.The Senior Job Captain is an integral member of a project team, coordinating and working on all phases of projects from planning and conceptual design through construction. Responsibilities and duties include development of Revit BIM models, the development of construction documents, and project team coordination. A Senior Job Captain works collaboratively within a design team from conceptual design through construction documents under some supervision from a Project Manager or a Project Architect, to produce project deliverables, ensuring the design intent is consistent and well executed.Successful candidates will:Have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent education.Be working toward becoming a Registered Architect.Have a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in a professional architectural office setting.Have excellent Revit knowledge as well as MS Suite.Prior experience with Construction Administration on Healthcare projects (OSHPD/HCAI experience a huge plus).They should be able to:Effectively coordinate their own work and the work of others using BIM and other design technology tools.Coordinate with the Project Manager or Project Architect to ensure project resources are scheduled and used effectively.Have a good working knowledge of project staffing, budgets, and task management.Communicate with consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and project team to clarify technical issues and share project information.Produce design and construction documents, and actively work towards a complete understanding of jurisdictional code issues and resolutions.Participate in researching construction materials, assemblies, and details.Be responsible for quality control of their own work and maintaining office standards for documentation.Participate in the ongoing development of firm-wide BIM applications, tools, templates, and processes.Actively participate in QA reviews of technical documents.At Taylor Design, we’re humble- it keeps us grounded.
