Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full time experience working in an administrative capacity in an athletic environment, such as an athletic department, professional sports program, public education athletic administration or special event/entertainment/concert profession or related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with desktop publishing software. Experience working with Microsoft Office and/or Google applications. Experience reconciling cash, credit or check collections. Experience with ticketing software. Box office experience.

Brief Description of Duties: The Director of Ticket Sales and Operations will lead and manage all aspects of ticket sales, revenue generation and operational logistics for ticketed athletic events. The position will oversee season ticket sales, single-game tickets, group sales and premium seating options. The incumbent will help create and manage ticket pricing models and promotional offers to drive sales and attendance in alignment with department goals. Exceptional customer service and stewardship to our fans and season ticket holders is essential for this role. Reporting and reconciliation of financial reports for ticketed events is part of the incumbent's responsibilities. As the primary contact for the Athletic Ticketing Software System, the Director is responsible for all troubleshooting, training and regular contact in order to ensure a successful vendor and client obligation.

Ticket Sales Strategy and ManagementDevelop and implement comprehensive ticket sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize attendance for athletic events. Oversee ticket sales, single-game ticket sales, group sales and premium seating options. Create and manage ticket pricing models and promotional offers to drive sales and attendance goals set forth by the Director of Athletics. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the ticket office, ensuring efficient processing, distribution and management of tickets. Coordinate with venue staff to ensure seamless execution of ticketing processes, including entrance procedures and seating arrangements. Monitor and report on ticket sales performance, revenue projections and financial outcomes, making data-driven decisions to optimize results. Develop and manage ticket sales and operations budget, ensuring financial objectives are met while adhering to University policies. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations and best practices related to ticket sales and operations. Prepare and present regular reports on ticket sales performance, operational metrics and strategic initiatives to senior management and leadership.Customer Service and Fan Experience

Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall fan experience, including addressing customer inquiries, resolving ticket-related issues and ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Analyze customer feedback and sales data to identify trends, preference and opportunities for improvement. Work closely with other departments, including marketing, sponsorship and game-day operations to coordinate promotional efforts and enhance the overall Stony Brook fan experience. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external partners and fans to ensure alignment and successful execution of ticketing initiatives.Team Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of ticket sales and operations staff, providing training, guidance and performance management to ensure high levels of service and productivity. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that supports departmental goals and enhances employee engagement. The position will also be responsible for training and educating of the contracted staff used at ticketed athletic events in order to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and University and department policies and procedures.

Other duties or projectsas assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Special Notes: This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.

In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
