Located in Norfolk, Virginia, CHKDs ER is the regions only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, ensuring the highest level of emergency care for young patients facing critical conditions.
Staffed by a team of board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians, experienced nurses, and child life specialists, the ER at CHKD is designed to address the unique needs of children in a compassionate, child-friendly environment. The unit is equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies, from minor injuries to life-threatening illnesses, with a particular focus on managing high-acuity cases and the growing needs of pediatric mental health patients.
CHKDs Emergency Room is known for its fast-paced, efficient care, supported by advanced diagnostic tools and treatment facilities. The team is trained to provide expert triage, ensuring that each child receives timely and appropriate care.
