Job Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates and/or performs standard and complex management support service activities, including, but not limited to coordinating and processing personnel actions for unit, researching, processing, and preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining employee's confidential files, coordinating incoming mail, and preparing and submitting Human Resources forms. Serves as the administrative staff supervisor of Charleston Maintenance and organizes, assigns, and reviews work performed by administrative staff. Responsible for employee's annual performance reviews. Assists Resident Maintenance Engineer (RME), Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineers (ARME's) and Foremen with administrative duties and clerical tasks as needed. Coordinates procurement duties and ensures all procurement policies and procedures are followed. Assists with HR polices and procedures to include benefits and workers compensation claims/paperwork. Conducts monthly all employee training/safety meetings, and maintains training records for unit. Assists with Highway Maintenance Management System (HMMS). Serves as County Coordinator. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence.

Physical Requirement: The physical demands for the essential functions of this position include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies.

A motor vehicle operator's license is required.Additional Comments
