The Material Movement Specialist position in Lawrence is on 2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am midnight).

The Materials Movement Specialist reports through the Warehouse Department in the Lawrence Production Center.Individuals in this department transport stock and recycled material to and from the warehouse to the production areas.

The Materials Movement Specialist in Lawrence transports stock between production departments and warehouse or between shipping and receiving docks.Loads and unloads incoming and outgoing trucks.Locates stock in the warehouse and fills orders for manufacturing using a variety of powered equipment.Responsible for loading and unloading skids onto the vertical lift and using the elevator as necessary.Responsible for sorting paper or other materials into proper recycling categories to ensure maximum revenue generation.Acts as a technical resource to support departments on paper grading.Operates paper, chip and poly balers to compress recyclable materials into bales.Responsible for all documentation related to stock movement.Transports hazardous waste material in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.Positively participates in performance dialogues and other team problem-solving activities.Identifies potential problems, and shows willingness to proactively work on problem resolution and alternative solutions to traditional methods of operation.Flexibility is key as the incumbent will be expected to move to different work assignments as needed.Incumbent will be expected to learn and perform multiple assignments within this job classification.

The Materials Movement Specialist position may be in several departments, and incumbent will be expected to learn and perform multiple assignments within this job classification.

In this position you will:

Be certified to operate fork lifts and other power equipment as required.Transport stock between production departments and warehouse or between shipping and receiving docks and load onto trucks.Prepare materials and supplies for shipment using banding equipment, power saws, power drills, film wrapper and string tie as required.Responsible for all documentation related to stock movement.Coordinate with paper recycling contractor, metal, or other contractors regarding the pick-up and delivery of storage containers and trailers to support manufacturing workloads.Performs preventive and scheduled maintenance services on balers and power equipment.Demonstrate the flexibility and teamwork to positively influence how goals are accomplished with shorter periods of time.Communicate effectively with outside vendors and other departments.Utilize good safety practices.Requirements:

Work overtime as required during peak seasonsMust pass certification to operate lift trucks and power lift equipmentThe warehouse and docks do not maintain direct climate control.This is a warehouse environment that requires wearing appropriate PPE and following operating procedures when working with hazards from equipment, tools, and chemicals.Required to operate hand powered tools, such as power saws, power drills, etc.There is some noise and hearing protection is required by Hallmark.

This position is located in Lawrence, Kansas.Relocation is not provided.
