Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Permanent Histology Tech to join our dynamic team in the medical industry. This role involves working in our state-of-the-art histology lab, where you will be instrumental in helping us deliver high-quality diagnostic services. You will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Pathologists. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and prepare tissue and body fluid specimens for routine and special histologic procedures and pathologist review.
- Perform complex histological procedures, record and analyze data, maintain and troubleshoot equipment, and assist in the development of new techniques and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining the laboratory's accreditation by following established guidelines and protocols.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment in compliance with applicable procedures and regulations.
- Assist with the training and orientation of new staff and students.
- Communicate effectively with pathologists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Histology Tech is preferred; WILL CONSIDER NEW GRADS!
- Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or equivalent.
- Proficient in histological techniques, including tissue fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex medical information.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Proficient in using laboratory information systems and office software.
- A Bachelor's degree in Histology, Biology, or a related field is preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining high professional standards, including confidentiality and ethical conduct.
