First Aid, AED certification. Health care and/or medical experience preferred.* Hours will be 6.5 hours daily during school days. 7:30 a.m - 2:30 p.m.* 10-month positionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Some or all of the following duties and responsibilities may apply.)* Assists the School Nurse with the following (but not limited to): management of students with injury, illness and health maintenance or prevention needs as directed; management of students/staff with medical emergencies or crisis situations; vision, hearing and postural screening (includes screening process, documentation, referrals and follow-up); triage routine health office visits; documentation of student visits; preparation of field trips; maintaining databases for health services (to include but not limited to sports, Physical Education, history and consent, immunizations, and health concerns.)* Performs minor first aid treatment and administers meds as needed.* Maintains cleanliness of the health office (includes wiping down furniture, examination tables, etc.)* Performs clerical duties as required, such as recording standardized information on cumulative health records, completing reports, correspondence, distribution of mass communications, filing, inventory/requisition of supplies and assisting with telephone communications.* Maintains current information and knowledge of school district policies and procedures.* Participates in educational or in-service programs to increase working knowledge.* Maintains professionalism and confidentiality as per Board of Education Policy.* Ability to operate a computer and related software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs. (e.g. Google, MS Word, Excel, PowerSchool, etc.).* Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, vendors, parents, administration and the school community.* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
