Tax Senior - Trust & Estates

Salary: $100-110K plus a bonus, benefits and relocation fee (if needed.)

Location: Hybrid model. Must work in office (Miami, Florida) 2-3 days a week.


About: We are an established South Florida based public accounting firm looking for Tax Seniors. Our company was founded in 1959 and has approximately 70 professionals with offices located in Miami and Boca Raton. The firm has a rich history of internal growth and professional development, providing audit/financial reporting, tax, forensic and other related services. Our clients are both domestically and internationally based. Our firm's growth mirrors South Florida's rise on the global stage.

Summary:
- In this role you will be responsible for providing a combination of sophisticated tax planning, consulting and compliance services that impact a client's fiduciary, gift, and estate tax matters
- Clients served in the Trusts and Estates group include high-net worth and their closely held businesses, estates, family offices, and trusts
- Responsible for the overall planning and execution of client tax engagements
- Supervise other Tax staff assigned to Estate, Gift and Fiduciary client tax engagements
- Preparation of complex estate (Form 706), gift (Form 709), and fiduciary income (Form 1041), and individual income (Form 1040) tax returns, including related tax schedules and forms - Prepare fiduciary accounting documents
- Research and consult on various estates, gift, fiduciary and income tax-related issues that impact clients - Review trust documents, Last Will and Testaments, Buy Sell agreements and other estate planning documents
- Ensure timely filing of all client-related tax returns and documents - Respond to federal and state tax notices that impact clients, and represent clients in any potential tax audit
- Provide tax planning and consultation to high net worth clients for their estate and individual income taxes - Identify additional tax planning opportunities that are beneficial for clients

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a Business-related field of study
- CPA or parts of the CPA exam
- 3+ years of relevant tax experience working in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, a tax consulting practice or a family office environment
- A strong tax technical background developed from preparation of income tax returns for all types of entities
- Strong tax planning and compliance surrounding income, trusts & estates, and gift tax matters
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, CCH, Axcess, ProSystem and other tax related software
