WAREHOUSE PRODUCTION FORKLIFT | 2-2-3 DAY SCHEDULE

Position Overview:
Ensure that quality packaging materials are supplied to palletizing operations and transport finished quality pallets to appropriate area of the warehouse.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Keep palletizer magazines full of pallets, top frames, and slip sheets and ensure the quality of all materials.
- Keep pallets aligned properly and remove jams as needed.
- Make sure pallet inventory is properly sorted, with defective pallets stored in separate area.
- Check the conditions of forklift and perform basic P.M.’s at the start of each shift.
- Ensure strappers are full of banding material and pallets are flowing smoothly through lower conveying. Perform band tension check once per shift and document results on check sheet.
- Inspect and transport finished pallets to warehouse, referring any H.F.I.s for proper disposition.
- Replace missing cans on pallets and missing bands before transporting them to the warehouse.
- Maintain good housekeeping in lower conveying area.
- Assist in other areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans through the plant.
- Scan all production to proper bays and ensure P.O. numbers are not mixed.
- Complete the required daily cleaning task and sign off sheet.
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of 6 months of forklift experience with operation at least 75% of the workday operating the forklift.
- Ability to read and understand date codes and pallet tickets, know how to operate computer to generate pallet tickets and the procedures for application.
- Ability to learn and understand overall can making process, quality requirements, customer specifications, and be capable for identifying defects.
- Ability to learn and understand the quality requirements of dunnage (pallets, slip sheets, top frames).
- Basic data entry skills.
- Ability to safely work and operate forklift in a fast-paced environment. In addition to filling tanks and completing basic inspections at shift start up.
- Ability to learn and understand dunnage materials specifications, quality packaging requirements and H.F.I. procedures.
- Ability to learn and understand palletizing system and lower conveying.
- Ability to clear jams, when needed.
Preferred Requirements
- Packaging industry experience
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing
