Position SummarySupplies materials for the extrusion process as required. Follows instruction and acts independently as needed to ensure the extruder operations run without interrupting coater operations. Assists the Extruder Operator in producing high quality Extruded Hot melt adhesive in an efficient & safe manner. Assists the Extruder Operator in operating all production equipment to support the extrusion process. Acts as fill-in for Extruder Operator as needed, monitoring feed streams, material handling of 1100 lb. sacks of resins, lifting of 50 lb. bags of various materials.Key ResponsibilitiesPerforms the duties consistent with the extrusion function including, but not limited to:Supplies materials to Extruder operation as required.Assists in performing routine extruding operation.Ensures daily coating schedules are reviewed and followed.Ensures that machine is set-up and operated in a timely and safe manner in order to produce products that meet specifications.Lifting required: Unloading of box trucks, unloading of tanker trucks, (150 f to 350 f) shuttling of materials from red label building to compounding area.Assists with and ensures routine clean-up on pumps and other extruding support equipment is performed.Assists with and ensures necessary paperwork is completed to properly document production, quality and inventory requirements.Ensures materials are properly unloaded from tankers and trucks.Ensures necessary samples for Quality Assurance are obtained as needed.Transfers shift change-over information as required.Monitors and reports deviations in materials and running conditions.Assist with housekeeping as needed.Performs and documents daily forklift inspection on equipment.Performs other duties as assigned, and regular attendance is required.Scope:Direct Reports: NoPhysical Requirements:This position normally works in the production floor area. Dusty conditions, exposure to ambient temperatures, chemicals and fumes are normal. The noise level is usually high and loud noises are prevalent in this position. Hearing, eye and foot protection are mandatory when engaged in activities in the plant.Reports to: Shift LeaderLocation: Scranton, PASelection Criteria:Education:High School Diploma or GED is required. Heavy lifting may be required. Attention to detail is very important as errors will shut the hot melt coating line down. Ability to utilize the computer as required.Ability to perform basic math functions and convert units of measure. Ability to work with English as well as Metric measurement systems.Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with internal and external personnel.
