As a centralized provider of services that support departments across the City, the IO manager needs to have the ability to connect and build rapport with technical and non-technical teammates alike.This role will lead a team of highly skilled infrastructure engineers, working with the team to develop a technical vision and strategy while helping them with appropriate prioritization and removing roadblocks for the day-to-day task execution. The IO team plays a critical role in the City’s operations and is vital to the success of other team’s initiatives. Given this criticality, the IO manager is responsible for making sure they’re highly collaborative with their peers in the technology department, partners in other departments, and fostering a culture of collaboration between the IO team and their partners.

In addition, this role will be responsible for:Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage).Ensure high availability and performance of IT systems.Manage daily operations of IT services, including network operations, and system administration.Help, develop, and apply IT policies and procedures.Education and Experience:Five years of professional experience in information technology in a municipal settingTwo years supervisory/managerial experience, with demonstrated progressively responsible leadership experienceHigh school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferredOr equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Licenses and Certificates:Valid Washington State driver's license may be requiredOther:This class description describes the general nature of the work performed, representative duties as well as the typical qualifications needed for acceptable performance.
