The Sr. Loan Specialist assists multiple lenders with preparing a variety of both commercial and consumer loans. Responsible for appropriately managing requests relating to complex loan portfolios from multiple lenders and providing accurate, timely and reliable documentation to create an exceptional customer experience. Accurately assembles loan documents in a fast-paced team setting while delivering a high level of service and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Obtain borrower information from the lender to complete the initial loan application process. Order credit reports, obtain MLA report when applicable and review public records.

Adhere to Frontiers HMDA procedures and guidelines to ensure the regulation is followed completely during the application process. Determine any regulations or disclosures that may apply.

Gather pertinent information for the Loan Estimate, including tax information and insurance premiums. Verify accuracy of the CAP to address discrepancies with the lender. Prepare the Loan Estimate and provide it to the customer while following applicable timing requirements.

Gather all Business entity documentation from Commercial clients and complete all regulatory forms as needed.

Order real estate and commercial appraisals as needed or obtain real estate evaluations from the Lender. Order the applicable title information and work directly with title companies as needed.

Order and review flood determinations and request flood insurance from the borrower if applicable. Follow flood regulations and complete the flood checklist when applicable.

Review all loan documents for accuracy and provide the loan officer with the borrowers Closing Documents and Closing Disclosure in adherence to regulation timing requirements.

Prepare the loan documents in the LaserPro system. Provide a complete and accurate loan document packet to the loan officer for closing.

Complete all compliance-related documents with special attention to flood, RESPA, HMDA, Reg B and Reg Z. Ensure loan documents have been closed accurately (have proper signatures, dates, notaries, legal descriptions and other relevant data).

Submit recordable documents to SimpliFile or file UCCs, etc. Build the customer portfolio in the Fiserv system while following the Banks CIP requirements. Activate the loan in the Fiserv system. Process loan fees, account and general ledger entries and third party payments. Input trailing customer information into the system as needed.

Completes administrative tasks such as preparing and maintaining pipeline reports, reviewing daily transaction reports and notifying the lender of any past due accounts. Update, scan and monitor insurance placement, documents and tickler reminders. Review monthly maturing loans report to prepare loan extension with the Lender. Review other loan reports as assigned.

Provide backup to the other Loan Processors as needed, process loan payoff requests and prepare loan statements and notices for mailing.

Identify and escalate transactions or information related to suspicious activity to the BSA department. Perform duties according to established bank policies and procedures to comply with bank controls.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Exceptional communication skills and display of professionalism.

Excellent knowledge of TRID, Loan Estimates, Closing Disclosures and Commercial Documentation.

Self-motivated with a drive for self-development and learning.

Aptitude to search for ideas that may improve processes and enhance department efficiencies.

Ability to cultivate a team environment to support, communicate and collaborate with all team members.

General knowledge of bank policies, procedures and regulations.

Education and Experience:

Five or more years in the lending function assisting senior lenders in consumer and commercial loans.

Working regulatory knowledge should include privacy, safeguarding customer information, Regulation B Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Regulation Z Truth in Lending, CRA, HMDA, RESPA and flood regulations.

LaserPro and Fiserv Premier experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to occasionally lift files or boxes.

Must be able to use computer, file documents and finger through files.

Physical Demands:Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry or otherwise move objects. Job involves sitting most of the time and walking and standing some of the time.
