The DFC Impound Specialist plays a crucial role in managing total loss claims and customer insurance coverage, ensuring the protection of DFC collateral. This position requires the efficient, timely, and accurate processing of related documentation. Responsibilities include submitting required documentation promptly and accurately, maintaining comprehensive notes, and adding necessary documents to the DFC loan management system, as well as managing all activities related to total losses and updates to customer insurance coverage. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness in all tasks.Location : Medford, OR (On-site) or Tigard, OR (On-site)Compensation Range : $19.65- $24.35/hrActual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.ResponsibilitiesProcess insurance policy cancellation and lapse paperwork to the collection account.Establish and maintain tracking system for SCFC customer insurance coverage.Contact customers to verify current insurance coverage and educate on terms on contract related to coverage.Confirm insurance claim status and update collection account status.Process “Guarantee of Title” paperwork needed for payment in timely manner.Contact and educate customers on total loss process and account responsibility until process complete.Verify additional contracts and process cancellations as needed.Contact insurance companies weekly to verify status of claim process and payment.Monitor customer account details for non-payments from contract cancellations and insurance companies.Educate and counsel customers on account terms and payment programs to resolve past due amounts.Utilize various skip tracing methods and processes to locate customers as needed.Maintain and ensure accurate, up-to-date customer account information.Proactively work campaigns.Other duties as assigned.Skills and QualificationsStrong attention to detail.Sense of urgency.Excellent communication.PC skills including knowledge and use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Windows, etc.).Previous auto insurance experience preferred.Previous collections experience preferred.CompetenciesDoes the right thing, takes action and adapts to change.Self-motivates, believes in accountability, focuses on results, makes plans and follows through.Believes in humility, shares best practices, desires to keep learning, measures performance and adapts to improve results.Thrives on a team, stays positive, lives our values.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Up to 1/3 of time: standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds.Up to 2/3 of time: sitting, kneeling, reaching, talking, hearing.*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.Minimum RequirementsHigh School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required.
