Job SummaryResponsible for the planning and procurement of direct materials that will be used in production, as well as some indirect materials and services.
Essential Functions
Reviews internal purchase requisitions for correctness and places purchase orders accordinglyPlans for the purchase of materials for assigned suppliers or commodities by utilizing reports and demand planning tools, and places purchase orders per company S.O.P.'sEnsures adherence to supplier commitments such as pricing and on-time deliveryMeets inventory targets through planning and purchase order maintenanceAlong with Demand Planner, forecasts future demand requirements and publishes supplier forecastsWorks with suppliers and Commodity Management to identify cost reduction and other value adding initiativesParticipates in supplier business reviews and audits as necessaryPerforms other duties as assigned by Management.Demonstrates trustworthiness and professionalism with suppliers, management, peers, and team members.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in business related field from an accredited college/university with 2-4 years of Procurement/Supply Chain experience required or4-6 years of Procurement/Supply Chain experience requiredManufacturing environment and/or regulated environment (Medical, Aerospace, Nuclear) experience preferredExperience with ERP systems, implementation experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to establish and maintain supplier relationships and lead projectsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with internal customers, external suppliers, and colleaguesAbility to read and interpret Auto/CAD drawingsStrong analytical skillsKeen attention to detail; able to produce error free workPossess basic knowledge of supply chain activities, including transformation of natural resources, raw materials and components into a finished product that is delivered to the end customerRecognize the ways that supply chains link value chains
