This position oversees the assigned shift in the valet area and acts as the Valet Supervisor in their absence. Provides exceptional service to all guests and potential guests by assisting them in a friendly, efficient, courteous and professional manner. Provides valet parking services to safely and efficiently move guest automobiles to a designated parking location while following company policies and procedures. This function may include assisting with loading and unloading of luggage, providing information in regard to the hotel’s facilities and events, and directions to local attractions. This position will exhibit excellence in cultivating the Edgewood Vision by executing both employee and guest engagement standards.Essential Functions:Oversees assigned shift of the valet department.Insures the drive is monitored to ensure the optimum guest experience.Respond appropriately to guest inquiries and concerns to ensure total guest satisfaction.Establish a good rapport with the guests.Trains and monitors all valet employees.Understands and executes the guest experience model: guest expectations, service and engagement standards, training, and guest experience.Upon arrival of guests, welcomes them and assists them with parking and retrieving their cars.Greet customers and open their car doors.Assist customers to ensure comfort or safety.Inspect vehicles to detect any damage.Issue ticket stubs or place numbered tags on windshields, log tags or attach tags to customers' keys, and give customers matching tags for locating parked vehicles.May have to perform cash handling tasks, such as making change, balancing and recording cash drawer, or distributing tips if parking fees are established.Park and retrieve automobiles for customers in parking lots.Patrol parking areas to prevent vehicle damage and vehicle or property thefts.Monitor surroundings to detect potential hazards.Drive passenger vehicles.Provide customer assistance and information, such as giving directions or handling wheelchairs.Provide transportation information to passengers or customers.Keep parking areas clean and orderly to ensure that space usage is maximized.Direct motorists to parking areas or parking spaces, using hand signals or flashlights as necessary.Lift, position, and remove barricades to open or close parking areas.Call emergency responders or the proper authorities and provide motorist assistance, such as giving directions or helping jump start a stalled vehicle.Checks the daily arrival list for VIPs or guests with special needs.Respond to guest requests and questions providing a knowledgeable, efficient, and helpful information service.Assist with answering the telephone and taking messages, transferring calls or dealing with inquiries.To provide an efficient luggage storage, delivery, and collection service.Valet Attendants are also sometimes called on to deal with basic vehicle maintenance issues such as changing tires and oil, checking tire pressure, and replacing flats.Perform any other duties as assigned by the management.Qualifications / Special Skills:The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly effective professional. Proficiency in English.Previous experience in hospitality would be preferred and commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.Be a good team player.Able to stand for long hours and transport guest luggage in and out of the car, lift objects up to 50 pounds and run on occasion.Driving experience in all types of passenger vehicles including manual shift.Must have a valid driver’s license with a proven clean driving record.Must pass a background check and drug test.Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.Working Conditions:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
