EMPLOYER SUMMARYA local shelter is looking for an Executive Director of Shelter Services to help manage operations to better serve the community. This position will serve for a year-round nightly shelter in the city of Madras for those struggling with homelessness in Jefferson County. The shelter is open to those experiencing homelessness every night from 6pm-7am. They serve dinner, breakfast, and send people with a sack lunch, as well as providing a bed, with a storage bin for those in need each night.REQUIREMENTS
Valid Driver's LicenseAdministrative experience and background working with a non-profit organizationTwo years supervisory and managerial experiencePREFERENCES
Possess a bachelor's degree in human services or related fieldExperience working in a low-barrier shelter, as well as in the following areas: outreach and engagement strategies; housing navigation; best practice models; mental health and substance use disorders; crisis intervention; suicide assessment and prevention; public benefit applications, etc. and knowledge of individuals experiencing homelessnessStrong relationship building skillsJOB DUTIES
Establish and maintain positive relationships with local pastors and directors of other ministries, agencies, and ministry partnersProvide supervision and direction for program directors, Shelter Services Center and staff; Coordinator, Case Manager, Shelter Attendants, janitorial and maintenance support, etc.Advise the board of directors on program development and expansionPursue grants and oversee grant writing process. Administer grant funding and provide required documents and reports to grantors.Pursue, organize and implement new fundraising opportunitiesExpand organization's donor base by developing and implementing donor development strategies.HOURS5 Days per week, with flex shift hours to match shelter hours8:00 AM - 5:00 PMPAY$70,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experienceCONTACT DETAILSThis is a confidential staff-assisted recruitment, the employer has asked WorkSource Oregon to perform pre-screening.
