DescriptionWorking in concert with, and reporting to the FSQA Manager, the FSQA Supervisor is responsible for oversight of all laboratory functions, quality systems, and food safety programs. The Quality Lab Supervisor will develop and continuously improve quality procedures throughout the plant and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards.RequirementsKey Responsibilities:Develop, promote, and lead a positive food safety cultureEnsure all reviews and major changes to the SQF system are documentedProvide GMP/HACCP/etc related training to all employeesMaintain plant environmental testing program, implement, and follow-up on corrective actions.Establishes testing specifications and protocols and oversee collection and analysis of quality data, including tests, inspections of product and processes, and finished product release, and shelf life programInvestigate, determine, and coordinate corrective steps on non-conforming productEnsure lab equipment is compliant to all certifications, customer requirements, and internal requirements. Perform maintenance of lab equipment as necessary.Assures that all products produced onsite or sold by the company are safe for consumption and conform to the intended useEffectively maintain working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teamsUpdate and/or develop documentation such as SOPs and SSOPsLead the lab team, including evaluation of QA Specialists through performance reviews, ongoing coaching, and feedback.Responsible for managing, directing, and scheduling of QA personnelManage and supervise QA daily activities, meetings, and discussionsShared responsibility on the development and incorporation of new and existing technologies, including calibrations, testing, validations, data analysis, monitoring, procedure development, and training.Assist FSQM in performing investigative analysis, assign root cause, and determine corrective actions on consumer complaintsAssist FSQM in providing direction and influence for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all quality systemsAssist in validating changes to Food Safety Fundamentals, Food Safety Plans, and Food Quality Plans that have an impact to deliver safe, quality foodAssist FSQM in ensuring all current certification requirements are met as well as the addition and/or compliance of any new required certification and assist in ensuring regularly scheduled inspections are completed to ascertain plant compliance with established regulationsAssist with the development and maintenance of QA initiativesAbility to perform essential duties of both the FSQA Manager and Quality Specialists in the event of their absencePhysical Requirements:· Sit Occasionally 35%; Stand & Walk 65%· Lift, bend, stoop, push/pull exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently· Use of hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.· There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electric current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes· Noise level in the plant varies but can reach moderate levelsWhat we are looking for:· High school diploma required; Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related college degree preferred· 2-5 years of Quality experience in food manufacturing application with leadership experience preferred· PCQI, HACCP and SQF Practitioner certifications, or the ability to get them within 6 months· Working knowledge of food safety, GMP, and GLP programs
