Position Overview:
Xometry is looking for an experienced CNC machinist and assembly manufacturing professional with a strong eye for details, and mechanical aptitude who will operate and program CNC machinery in order to accurately and efficiently manufacture high quality parts. Along with providing leadership in the assembly/rework area
Duties and responsibilities
As a Manufacturing and Assembly Lead, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Reading specifications on blueprints and mechanical drawings and ensuring they are met.
Setup, program, and operate CNC Mill and Lathe for prototype/production part runs
Be able to run tests on machines to check machine outputs according to specifications, and adjust as necessary.
Design fixtures and manufacture them as needed
Examine and maintain machinery regularly to ensure functionality.
Supervise machines during execution and make any necessary adjustments to manufacture a better result.
Inspect completed parts and compare them to the specifications and requirements of the blueprint, to determine if the process was properly completed.
Performs all work in compliance with Xometry's quality and safety systems, policies and procedures.
Assess rework and determine corrective action
Review and accept assembly work off the job board
Order COTS materials
Assemble components as required
Lead assembly technicians and assign work
Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience as CNC machinist with at least 10 years of experience.
Skill in operating and programming CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
Toolmaker/Tool and Die training or apprenticeship.
Computer savvy with expert understanding of CNC programming and CAD/CAM.
Mechanical aptitude and proficient math skills
Minimum 4 years programming experience
Knowledge of GD&T
Haas Mill and Lathe experience is a plus
Solidworks experience is a plus
MasterCam or NX experience required
