Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Weekends are required.Key responsibilities for this position include:Assist in managing the packaging department’s workConduct interviews when necessaryLead a team: delegate, instill a sense of responsibility, set targets, communicate instructions, control and listenProvide reports to managementApply well-defined standards in costs and budgetsRecord efficiency dataAnalyze and evaluate packaging parameters and implement corrective actionsPropose technical and organizational improvements to managementMonitor packaging material and their inventoriesPlan and schedule employees consistent with volume requirementsApply safety rules and ensure they are implemented and followedApply and enforce all quality programsParticipate and recommend solutions to common quality issuesTake action to continuously improve process targetsOther duties as assignedRequirementsFrom your STORY to oursQualified applicants will contribute the following:Education/ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Business, Food Science, Dairy Science or related field preferred5 years experience in industrial food packaging - dairy or cheese packaging a plus3-5 years experience in a management/supervisory roleSpecialized KnowledgeFood industry technology and packaging processes, quality, food safety, and health and safetyFood production sanitation practicesOrganizational tools and methodsProcess flow managementCollective line and non-line managementComputer/office systemsSkills/AbilitiesCandidate should be analytical and attentive to detailManage stress and remain calm under pressureDemonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards, honesty, integrity, and objectivityThe ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail. Capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, managing stress, and remaining calm under pressure, and able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills.
