Job Description:

Parsons is hiring a Quality Assurance Representatives (QAR) to support our client in Gaithersburg, Maryland.What You’ll Be Doing:

Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and performing the general field inspection services to monitor all on-site construction related activities.

A QAR is not just an inspector, they shall be an extension of the CMa PM which ensures the project is running safely and per the 2021 CMAA Construction Management Standards of Practice.

Inspection of completed work for code compliance and adherence to construction contract requirements.

Recommendation to the COR of approval or rejection of materials and workmanship as appropriate.

Monitoring of labor and safety requirements.

Inspection of storm water management (SWM) and sediment control measures for compliance with Maryland Department of Environment (MDE) permit requirements.

Preparation of complete written inspection reports for every inspection, daily field reports, maintenance of inspection logs and records of defects and/or omissions; and similar activities.

Verification of IT and security system requirements with NIST users while concurrently providing quality assurance to ensure correct design and installation.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in similar positions.

An ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with client and contractor/tradesmen in performance of duties.

Experience in design and construction projects with a direct relevancy and correlation to the same level of scope, size (dollar value) and complexity.

Must have project experience with medical, laboratory, research or other similarly complex projects.

Have an ability to oversee numerous concurrently phased construction activities with multiple stakeholders.

Shall have completed an OSHA 30‐hour course (or equivalent) or similar safety training courses in excavations/trenching, scaffolding and fall protection, confined spaces, lifting/loading equipment.

Construction industry certifications and qualifications, such as journeyman level in mechanical/electrical trades, construction management, National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) or The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) are desirable qualifications for the position(s).

The QAR shall have capability to communicate (i.e. voice, phone, text, or email) with staff anytime construction work is taking place on the client project site.
