Introduction to the jobAs a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical performance of a selected number of suppliers. You will work with suppliers on performance monitoring, solving technical issues, and driving technical process improvements (quality and yield improvement, process control, cycle time reduction, risk analysis, and reduction). You will work closely with Supply Chain Engineering, Logistics Supplier Management (LSM), Procurement Account Managers, and New Product Introduction Supply Chain Engineers in the ASML Development Organization. Depending on the size of the account, you will be a member of Supplier Account Teams. The focus of your work is on volume control, process optimization, and supplier development.Role and ResponsibilitiesQuality process and performance on "volume" products for suppliers and their n-tier suppliers.Carry out analysis of material Quality issues through structural problem-solving processes (DMAIC, 8D) and drive technical solutions during material escalations (MN's, DN's, AIR, FAR).Drive yield and technical process improvements at the supplier, actively participate in improvement projects at suppliers regarding cycle time reductions, yield improvements, and quality improvements.De-risk manufacturing processes at suppliers by optimizing quality, testing and qualification infrastructure, configuration management, processes, and organizational capabilities.Monitor and review supplier Material Quality Performance (MQP).Contribute to supplier development (e.g., implementing SPC, lean, FMEA, operational excellence at suppliers or n-tier suppliers), understand the needs of the supplier and ASML, and drive internal supplier changes to align.Support implementation of EC changes at suppliers on "volume" products.Develop and maintain sustainable partnerships with supplier's senior engineering and management staff.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or other degree specializing in Optics required.Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.Experience with Technical Production Documentations (TPD's), Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).Experience in improvement projects in supply chain, preferably in the High-tech industry.Experience with engineering and/or supply chain processes in a business-to-business (high-tech, low-volume) environment.Experience in Lean Manufacturing.Previous experience in at least 3 of the following: root cause analysis, material flow, manufacturing, process engineering, project management.Working knowledge of geometric optics, wave optics, epoxy application in opto-mechanical designs is a plus.Willingness to work 3-4 days in-office required.SkillsTo thrive in this job, you'll need the following skills:Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.Result-driven, demonstrating ownership and accountability.Demonstrate open, clear, concise, and professional communication.Ability to deal with resistance, interact with key stakeholders in a constructive way without being defensive, focus on data, and have an open mind, always being part of the solution.Other informationThis position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.).
