PURPOSE

The Director of Professional Ag Services will lead Central Valley Ag's (CVA) vision for technology and innovation. Oversee the Professional Ag Services team, ensuring seamless customer interactions and delivering value-driven solutions at the farm gate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership (45%)

- Build and nurture partnerships across the ag industry.- Research and implement emerging technologies to elevate product and service offerings.- Craft a vision that strengthens sales efforts and adds value for customers.

Collaboration (20%)

- Work closely with Agronomy Leadership, CVA divisions, and industry peers.- Revamp internal processes to foster success for both customers and the team at the farm gate.

Communication (10%)

- Effectively communicate programs, services, and innovations through grower meetings, presentations, R&D plots, and marketing channels.

Coordination (5%)

- Coordinate and lead training initiatives for staff, supporting the objectives of the Sr. VP of Agronomy, senior leadership, and CVA’s Board of Directors.

Team Leadership and Supervision (20%)

- Oversee the Professional Ag Services (PAS) leadership team and Regional ACS Managers.- Communicate CVA’s vision and strategy to the entire PAS team, providing direction, mentorship, and support.- Manage staff responsibilities, including hiring, performance reviews, and professional development, ensuring alignment with CVA’s strategic goals.

Vision and Strategy Promotion (10%)

- Advocate for CVA’s vision through ongoing meetings, training sessions, marketing, and data sharing.- Lead annual strategic planning sessions focused on long-term growth and the alignment of CVA and ACS goals.

Financial Management (5%)

- Develop ACS financial forecasts, set goals, and hold team members accountable for their performance.- Create ACS programs, pricing strategies, and team incentive plans.- Oversee expense management and annual CapEx budget planning to ensure fiscal responsibility.

Employee Engagement and Development (20%)

- Foster a culture of consistent communication with regular one-on-one check-ins with both direct and indirect reports.- Drive team building through meetings, training, and team challenges like the “Shark Tank Challenge” and strategic planning sessions.- Promote lifelong learning through training, conferences, and CVA University.- Emphasize CVA’s core values, ensuring they are woven into the daily work of the ACS team.- Champion a culture of safety by promoting safe work practices and adhering to CVA’s safety protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness or Agriculture Technologies or equivalent combination of education and experience required.- Experience in the field of Precision Agriculture or equivalent combination of education and experience required.- Certified Crop Advisor or ability to be certified within 2 years.- Knowledge of GIS programs for data processing and equipment diagnostics.- Valid driver’s license.- Integrity and good judgment skills required.- Excellent computer skills and must be experienced with MS Office Products.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.- Adapt and positively influence CVA’s Safety culture.- Other duties as assigned.
