The

Group Leader

has an overall responsibility for providing technical leadership, laboratory/project organization and scheduling for assigned staff. Responsible for meeting project timelines. Performs a dual role by working “hands-on” in the laboratory and responsible for more complex experimentation and training, while functioning as a supervisor in the laboratory.Responsibilities include:Management of the day-to-day laboratory activities, identifying and recommending training needs, and mentoring staff members. Provides technical laboratory oversight and serves as a technical resource for the division and clients.Incorporating outsourced analyses into CoAs and reports, and shipping samples/materials as dictated by a study protocol and/or the client.Collaborating to complete investigations and to meet investigation timelines, identifying root cause and developing corrective action plans.Inputting data into Eurofins LIMS for reporting to clients, and addressing data review comments and Quality Assurance comments.Providing staff supervisory functions in areas of hiring, discipline, and retention while monitoring employee performance.Managing resources necessary to complete projects and studies according to Eurofins and client needs.Guiding multiple projects and studies through workflow, ensuring ownership of all quality issues and goals.Providing or arranging appropriate training for staff.Maintaining and guiding implementation of organizational policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.Communicating clearly and effectively with clients and Eurofins staff and leadership.Evaluating actual project time and material estimates to ensure projects are completed according to guidelines.Providing assistance to marketing, sales, and business development relating to area of responsibility.Representing group and Eurofins at selected conferences, meetings and workshops.May lead complex analyses in the laboratory.Ensuring laboratory area meets regulatory, resource and safety requirements.Performing other related duties as required and directed.The ideal candidate would possess:Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects.Familiarity with Empower and Biochemistry Analytical Techniques.Prefer contract laboratory experience.A commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate information effectively.Strong people management skills and a collaborative work style.Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.Ability to consider situations from multiple perspectives.Persuasive with details and facts.Effective delegation of responsibility.Comfortable working in a diverse environment.Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or other directly related field and a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant setting.Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with overtime as needed.
