Senior Manager, Global Trade Compliance

for Leica Biosystems is responsible for

daily operation functions and tasks of the AMERICAs regional team of Trade Champions and Logistics personnel, as well as developing Global Trade Compliance metrics and maintaining oversight of LBS’s customs brokers and freight forwarders. The Senior Manager will also lead special projects, assisting the Director, Global Trade Compliance to streamline Global Trade processes and procedures. This role will also act as deputy to the Director, Global Trade Compliance where necessary and appropriate.You will be a part of the

organization—read on.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Develop, implement, and manage the relevant trade compliance policies and procedures manuals and standard work documents necessary to successfully manage import and export operations across the Region including the maintenance of databases for classification and country of origin in line with stakeholder requirements and partner with key stakeholders to maintain audit-ready records across all entities, ensuring alignment with the global framework.Provide regulatory consultation and communication to stakeholders in various business functions, training where needed and assist with trade compliance audits and government inquiries/responses, partnering with government licensing officers and regulators to resolve regulatory matters where directed.Develop and implement best practices across relevant departments to prevent trade disruptions and to develop lean approaches to the practices and to identify opportunities for improvement.Work closely with the Danaher Compliance team on regulatory updates and ongoing monitoring of compliance risk in the region, maintaining own knowledge to effectively implement required changes.Support reporting and analysis of Global Trade Compliance data for local, global and Danaher and Diagnostics Platform reporting and analysis including the maintenance of trade metrics, internal self-audits (Self-Testing) & processes to ensure adherence to customs & import/export requirements.The essential requirements of the job include:BS or BA degree in international trade, supply chain logistics, or related field and 10+ years of import and/or export and other trade compliance experience.Expert in classification to tariff schedules (HTS/TARIC/Tariff Code) and export control classification regimes.In depth knowledge of global import/customs regulations, export control regulations, embargoes and sanctions (principally the US, UK, EU, China and Australia).In depth knowledge of Trade Compliance principles (customs valuation, incoterms, license and permits, country of origin, HTS classifications, duty optimization / Free Trade Agreements, export controls and sanctions etc.).10 years' experience in Global Trade Compliance.It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Proven ability to build and maintain rapport at all levels within an organization.Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Word).Experience with Agile and SAP or equivalent ERP systems.Willing to travel internationally up to 15% of time.At Leica Biosystems we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
