Monitor and manage the shipment of commercial vehicle products from multiple import locations. Direct the port processor's operations at the assigned ports to ensure proper association, installation, quality, and timely shipment of vehicles. Coordinate the flow of vehicles from port to destination.PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES RELATIVE WEIGHTPORT MANAGEMENT 60%Responsible for port operations in Newark NJ and as determined annually.Supervise all port modification programs.Monitor and report vessel arrivals to Isuzu and Customs Broker.Verify and approve port processing billing.Manage vehicle transportation and regulate daily flow of vehicle orders. Assist in shipping of vehicle releases.TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT 30%Ensure dwell time average for the assigned ports is to be at or below an annually determined target.Excellent communication with ILNA and ICTA.Monitor daily wholesale/shipment and release reporting from processors.Monitor daily Finished Vehicle transportation flow to work with local designated carriers.ADDITIONAL DUTIES 10%Assist the national staff with projects such as accessory item time studies, reporting of PIC defective product, vehicle and parts inventories, etc.Participate in daily meetings with FAPS Newark NJ processor.Monitor shop production and PIO inventories.EDUCATIONAL and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS and ABILITIESMinimum high school diploma or GED; Associate degree in business or logistics preferred; Bachelor's Degree is desirable.Five (5) to ten (10) years' experience in the automotive logistics field preferred.Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and MS Teams).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Analytical ability is required to gather and summarize data for reports or correspondence, find solutions to various problems and to prioritize work.Attention to detail and meeting deadlines.Effective planning, assessing and executing abilities.Background in ISO and Kaizen a plus.Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate written or verbal instructions, policies, and procedures.Open-minded person with the ability to adjust to a rapidly changing work environment.Self-motivating, forward-thinking problem solver with a highly professional demeanor.Exhibits successful leadership through personal integrity and exemplary work ethics.Positive approach to challenges.Professional and personable working relationship with internal and external customers; great "people" skills.Dependable, reliable and able to work independently or as directed.PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENTWork environment is characteristic of the average business office or the average warehouse/distribution facility for operations personnel. Noise level is usually low to moderate. If travel is required, the associate will experience the weather conditions at that time.
