This position assists with tasks for planning projects including research, studies, and documentation, coordinating with inter-disciplinary team members, from concept development through project completion.Our Arlington, Virginia office is seeking New Grad Planners for Summer 2025 to support the Track and Rail group.What You’ll Do:Researches and collects raw data, organizes, analyzes and provides review of the data for use in projects and for further analysis.Performs project analysis using technical guidance and software.Assists project team members with various support tasks such as development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.Conducts research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning. Assists in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projectsPerforms tasks related to the preparation and production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects.Assists in stakeholder and public participation process.Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.Performs other duties as assigned.What You’ll Need:Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related fieldWhat You’ll Bring:Understands GIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.Compiles and summarizes data (i.e., census data, land use data) with direction from more experienced staff.Reviews, prepares, and summarizes relevant research for more experienced staff to review.Contributes to reports and assists in material preparation for presentations with direction from more experienced staff.What We Prefer:Master's degree in Urban Planning or related field.Previous work experience in planning through an internship or prior employment.Strong interest in transportation and infrastructureWhat We're Looking ForAt HNTB, you can create a career that is meaningful to you while building communities that matter to all of us.
