Position works closely with the Technical Coordinator to ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed and maintained.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Serves as primary Draper/Cutter.Monitors and maintains costume inventory for the theatre.Provides support to the costume design professor and the technical director of the theatre.Supervises and mentors student workers and staff for costume production assignments.Provides on-the-job training for the theatre division students during practicum and production hours.Works closely with performance and other design and technology faculty and staff and engages in departmental, school, University, and community collaboration.Maintains all production equipment.Maintains all current safety standards and guidelines.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Design / Costuming and 3 years of related experience OR Associate degree in Theatre Arts and 5 years of related experience (High School plus 7 years of related experience may substitute degree).Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Professional experience in theatre and shop management. Knowledge of costume shop mechanics and machinery. Supervisory experience. Knowledge of pattern drafting and/or draping. Oral and written communication skills. Detail oriented.Ability to:

Multi-task and work well as part of a team.Licensing/Professional Certifications:

Work beyond normal business hours and/or work on weekends.PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Design / Costuming.
