This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight.As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of hardware production support for the Lunar Program at our state-of-the-art facility in Merritt Island, Florida. As the Manager of Production Control, you will lead a team of production support personnel in the day-to-day execution of building critical hardware. This includes ensuring that our operations align with the overarching goals of the Lunar Permanence initiative.This role demands a hands-on approach, where you will be responsible for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Morale within your team. The hardware production support by your team will play a crucial role in the future of lunar exploration and settlement. This position requires versatile leadership, effective communication, and robust project management skills.You will be instrumental in growing our production team to support long-term lunar missions. Passion for our mission and vision is a must!Responsibilities:Oversee and evaluate the manufacturing schedule, ensuring availability and controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements.Supervise shop order release/closure processes in the MRP System, ensuring accurate reconciliation of parts.Provide detailed status updates on work in progress, material availability, and communicate any constraints impacting schedules to stakeholders.Prepare and oversee the issuance of work orders for the production of parts based on MRP, master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.Coordinate interdepartmental activities with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics, and program management to ensure efficient workflow.Manage and expedite the movement of parts through move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests.Collaborate cross-functionally to expedite material shortages with procurement, receiving, quality, and other production areas.Implement and monitor material stocking strategies on production lines, ensuring proper control and maintenance of floor stock.Ensure proper access and consumption of materials in manufacturing, maintaining compliance with control standards.Monitor the flow and velocity of jobs through the production line, partnering with Production to ensure timely completion according to schedule.Oversee the disposition and flow of MRB (Material Review Board) and stranded materials.Supervise material transactions in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Prepare comprehensive reports, documenting shortages or damages as necessary.Manage the process for scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations.Lead and assist in the reconciliation of cycle counts.Collaborate with Engineering and Warehousing teams to resolve part discrepancies effectively.Interface with various departments throughout the company to ensure seamless operations.Demonstrate strong organizational skills, decision-making abilities, and innovative problem-solving.Qualifications:5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, scheduling, demand planning, or production planning, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.In-depth experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and ERP systems.Proven track record in planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment.Proficient in working with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in MS Office and MRP execution within ERP systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.Demonstrated understanding and application of continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN, Six Sigma principles, DFSS, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.Proficiency in reading, running, and writing SQL (Structured Query Language).Flexibility to work varied shifts, including overtime, weekends, and occasional travel.Experience managing environments that require adherence to safety and health guidelines, including PPE usage.Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).Ability to handle multiple decisions considering workload dispersion, program priorities, and management/customer requirements.Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication.Strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude for problem-solving.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
