DescriptionThe Ascend Account Manager maintains, and services assigned small business commercial lines accounts, and oversees marketing of new business opportunities. This position requires a highly organized individual, able to work independently with minimal supervision. This position ensures that consistently high customer service goals are achieved to assist the agency in reaching profit and growth objectives and builds professional relationships with multiple customer and carrier contacts. The Ascend Account Manager must perform to the ethical standards required by the Colorado Department of Insurance and Moody Insurance Agency, Inc.Following is a brief outline of essential tasks for the Ascend Account Manager position, but other responsibilities and duties may be assigned:Manage client relationships and provide exceptional customer service (includes answering questions, providing certificates when requested, etc.) Customer service focus should be on understanding customer expectations and striving to exceed them.Oversee the entire new business marketing process. Respond to call in inquiries regarding placement of Business coverage. Ensure that all necessary information is compiled and direct submissions to carriers appropriate for the type of business. Negotiate terms and conditions and create detailed proposal for review with client.Order coverage within company binding authority and/or agency guidelines. Bind coverage for new customers, update applications in the system, and prepare premium finance applications. Create and maintain organized on-line file for each new customer, following all department policy regarding maintenance of files. Coordinate transition of account to company service centers as appropriate.Communicate regularly with underwriters and marketing representatives to discuss growth strategies and new opportunities, and to pursue any markets or programs that are attractive to producer participation.During existing client market renewals, prepare and analyze account reviews and gather additional information as needed. Coordinate transition of accounts to company service centers as appropriate.Research and analyze market changes throughout the year and proactively suggest appropriate changes to policies as necessary.Review contractual language as requested by clients; suggest policy changes or updates as necessary.Bill premiums and commissions in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with department policy.Review and resolve audit disputes.Order endorsements from the carrier accurately, according to Commercial Lines Procedure Manual.Process cancellation notices.Order loss runs through appropriate company websites.Follow up on suspense items daily, in accordance with department policy.Maintain a current, active license always. Complete Continuing Education classes as required to maintain license, or as requested by Management. Should hold or be working toward at least one of the following insurance designations: CIC, CPCU, ARM, or CRIS, as assigned by management.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsAble to read and write in English.High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree (or equivalent job experience) in insurance, communications, or another related field preferred.Must possess a valid Colorado Property and Casualty License; insurance designations such as CIC, CPCU, ARM, or CRIS strongly desired.Minimum 5 years experience in Commercial Lines insurance. Must have previous experience handling a minimum of $3 million in premium volume. Previous experience in a sales or marketing role strongly desired.Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Agency Management System software (AMS 360 or similar).Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Outstanding consulting, sales and negotiating skills.Strong customer service and team skills; must interact effectively with clients, co-workers, and management.Strong attention to detail.Solid organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under strict time constraints.Proven ability to analyze and solve problems.DisclaimerThe information provided above is intended as general overview of the nature of the work, requirements, and necessary qualifications associated with this position.
